In this sculpture, the stallion is executing the most extreme movement we ask of horses....the "capriole."

It is taught by the centuries-old Spanish Riding School after many years of careful training and building up

the horse's muscles to be physically capable of it. It is the pinnacle of accomplishment, the zenith of achievement, eclipsing all else.

The patina is silver nitrate, suspended silver particles applied with torch heat, to create the silvery shimmering effect of the dapples.
